There's nothing like a trip to the country to play golf on a bright, clear Fall day. And that's just what a small group of avid golfers did Saturday October 13th.

There was a distinct feel of Fall in the air when we arrived at the Beaver Creek Golf Course located in the Verde Valley. However, the weather warmed nicely in mid morning and we were shedding our sweaters by later morning. The course was terrific looking with pastural green fairways and greens. The course had received rain and an abundance of water which entitled the Phoenix group to a lift clean and place rule.

Beaver Creek is situated in a very lush area near a creek with big Cottonwoods and Sycamores. Most of the fairways are treelined in a rustic setting with old style dirt cart paths.

Despite many of the group, including your's truly, having tree problems most of the day, it was a real delight to play a golf course in a slow paced atmosphere.

Next week The Saturday Golf League travels out of town to
Prescott Valley's Prescott Country Club.
Hope to see you on the course - Joe Smouse.
