About Ringers - Saturday Golf League

The SGL Cup is our season-long league competition that mimics the PGA FEDEX CUP Members earn points throughout all of our Fall and Spring tournament events and these points are used to seed our members within fixed flights for a season ending, four (4) event PLAYOFFS system. CUP winners receive both financial payouts and the prestige of becoming champions among your league peers.

All Saturday Golf League members are automatically part of the SGL CUP as part of paid membership. Members do not have to play every event, but will receive points each time they participate in one of our weekly tournaments.

Various CUP points are earned during weekly events in one of two ways:

(1) PARTICIPATION – players will receive points during the season each time they play one of SGL’s tournaments. Extra bonus points are given for our added side games as well.

Participation points are as follows:

Playing in an event = 100 points

Putts = 10 points CTP = 10 points Deuces = 10 points

Gross Skins = 20 points Net Skins = 20 points

(2) SCORING RESULTS – players earn more points by their individual achievement against their peers at the conclusion of play.

These are as follows:

Flight winners first (1^st) through fourth (4^th) place:

(unless a flight is only 4 or less players during a given week at which time points will be given to places above the last place finisher based upon the limited flight size)

First Place = 150 points Second Place = 75 points

Third Place = 50 points Fourth Place = 25 points

Extra games winners:

First Place PUTTS = 30 points Second Place PUTTS = 15 points

CTP Winners = 25 points each Deuces = 25 points per deuce

SKINS = 1 point for each Skin won (both Gross & Net Skins)

The PLAYOFFS will occur at the end of our 2009-10 schedule and will comprise of four (4) Saturday events. Players will be seeded based upon their total points earned during the season. NEW starting “playoff points” will RESET for the playoffs with the top seeds receiving the highest starting points on down by your ranking. During playoffs, a new points distribution schedule is used where playoff points are given out ONLY by how a player finishes within his/her respective flight each week during the four designated SGL CUP playoff schedule. FINAL CUP winners are determined by their total playoff points at the end of the fourth event! Financial awards given to multiple places by flights. CUP trophies only to first place winners.
